World Record: 99.85 percent turnout

I was reading Jed Yoong’s comment on Mukhriz’s victory in Jerlun and straight away I went over to SPR’s results page to confirm the figures.

I was astounded. The result is mind-boggling. Please see below.

Bilangan Pemilih: 37, 297

Bilangan Pengundi: 37,242

Peratus Pengundian: 99.85

Majority: 2205.

If you were to do a simple maths by deducting the second figure from the first the answer would be 55. Yes, only 55 eligible voters did not vote on that day in Jerlun. The next highest figure in Kedah is Merbok with 86.15 percent turnout, 13 percent less. The list of voters was finalised way before elections. I take it, in that time to polling day no eligible voter died. I take it that no woman was in confinement. I take it that almost every one in Jerlun went to vote. I take it that not many Jerlunians work outside of Kedah or go overseas to study or are in prison or drug rehabilitation centres or are lorry drivers and bus drivers.

Hey this does not only deserve an entry into Malaysia’s Book of Records, it deserves entry into Guinness Book of World Records. How did they pull this off. Fantastic. The People of Jerlun must have been one of the most responsible bunch of people in the world. Considering that it is sort of a back water.

When the turnout was about 95 percent in Terengganu in 2004 some of the bloggers were claiming that it was indication of phantom voters because that high a figure is almost impossible to achieve especially to ulu places. Now Jerlun certainly is ulu and non of those bloggers care to comment about this figure. I am reeling.

I think the leaders in Malaysia should go to Jerlun to learn how this happened; what is their secret?

Wow! 99.85 percent. Incredible. Only 55 did not turn up out of 37, 297. Maybe SPR care to comment? These figures are provided by SPR. I did not make them up. To confirm go to,

Update:

Even more mind boggling is the voter turnout for the state seats under Jerlun:

Total qualified voters for Kota Seputeh and Ayer Hitam : 45513

Total votes casted for both constituncies : 37297

Percentage : 81.94.

SPR what is this? Are you slacking? What is the real total number of voters for Jerlun?

Here is my two cents worth. I doubt there is any big scale cheating but one point is proven: The SPR is grossly incompetent. Still, they have to change the figures otherwise it stands as a world record. Considering the law of averages, and law of probabilities this cannot happen and it is not wrong to point fingers.

SPR, the ball is in your court.

Chegu,
I missed the pertinent issue as I thought he went through by the skin of his teeth and thus won his seat fair and square. Now some doubt is cast.
Now I rmemerber my mates in the college days telling me "When you cheat, do it in a wise way". This definitely dont seem wise. Now I am in doubt. Did he really win the seat?

ok, here's my take. if they the SPR dickheads to give more phantom votes, it may go to those who are known to be the PM/kery's friends. mukhriz certainly is not part of the group so the record-breaking feat mukhriz achieved is plausible.

Zawi, and Kerp,
This is not an accusation at anyone. For all we know it is truly human error but the figure coming from SPR is not reflective of an efficient organisation. Anyway, there should be a correction otherwise they have proved us right when we say the SPR Chairman is an idiot.

Where did 200,000 postal votes go? Who control this votes?

When the money is King in the world of BN, the only logical way how these votes are distributed probably - is thru the highest bidder. Those who have a more money, can buy more votes:

Maybe, I don't know, just speculations (no proof):
- Perlis (Bernas)
- Terengganu (Petronas)
- Pahang (Mahathir/Najib's gang like Daim)
- Mukhriz (refer Pahang)
- Johor & Melaka (Singaporean businessmen)
- Sabah & Sarawak (?)

Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Perak & Selangor - due to strong UNITY from oppositions & rakyat and sabotaj activities within BN (DISUNITY)

I would say something is amiss here. I'm in PKR and wanted Mukhriz to win, the only UMNO member for that, but I think he was rigged in. The PAS candidate should lodge a case and shame him. Now he is making noise that Pak Lah should go, he too should go. Leave Pak lah alone, we want him to stay for 4 years before PKR boots him.

asil,
I wouldn't be so bold as to suggest that but knowing malaysia anything is possible.
One think I know for sure is that many of the postal votes were not voted by the owner of the name they were meant for.

Shah,
It is worth looking into though I am more inclined to believe it was a typo but then again where they got the figure I don't know.

Unknown said...

Ibrahim,
I never trusted Mukhriz because he is the son of his father and they sing the same tune.

Chegu,
I'm with you on this. My my they are really an incompetent twit, aren't they? This SPR..
I guess now they are on the losing end, they guess they can continue working shoddily. Oh whatever.

Sir,

Discrepancy in turnout of negri and parlimen cannot be ignored cos if one votes for parlimen surely, he also had voted for negri.

Hmm.... Interesting... I check on Rembau and guess what I found?!! Just go and check it if you wish to know.

I belief most of us belief what is happening here.

There is cheating.
There are idiots cheating ...that are idiots.
There re evidences that majority people working for government are half past sixes...all voted for UMNO.
Soooooo ..this new is no surprise.
Bravo to KTN having such a sharp pair of eyes.
NOW!!!...I heard Zakaria...the famous Klang satay man died of heat attack....but many said he committed suicide.
Can anyone confirm this?

Mr. Right said...

KTN,
Takde world record lah. Confirm SPR salah masuk data. Number of registered voters for Jerlun should be 45513 and the percentage just 81.83%. Mesti kes pekerja data entry tidor masa masukkan data, mereka ambil data lama.

Mr. Right said...

nak tambah sikit.

Kenapa banyak negeri jumlah pengundi berdaftar untuk Parlimen dan Negeri tidak sama? takkan la dia daftar untuk mengundi parlimen tapi tak daftar untuk DUN dan sebaliknya?

Pelik...pelik...

Ini baru record dunia.

Atau aku yang salah faham?

mior,
They are really incompetent. How come their software can't ensure that the total number of eligible voters for the state seats of a certain Parliament constituency is equals to the number of eligible voters for that particular Parliment constituency. I am not boasting but even I can do that. How much did thay pay for that software I wonder.

Unknown said...

hi&lo,
No discrepency should go unnoticed because there should be no discrepancy at all.

Unknown said...

Gua,
Rembau, Jerlun what's the difference. None of them are good.

Unknown said...

Monty,
Cheating is a way of life to them.

Unknown said...

Mr. Right,
Kalau satu tempat mungkin pekerja bodoh la tapi banyak sangat ni. Anyway I tend to believe that it was a typo. Bagi dia the benefit of the doubt unless of course ada orang cerdik pandai buleh proof otherwise.

Yes satay man is dead.
Pak Lah and Najib attended the funeral.....signaling...corrupted people in UMNO are one for all....and all for one.
Stand by the man...no matter what..or else all will sink together.
What a united strong crooked party we have in Malaysia.

Here is a small script from SPR software:

if BN votes < BA Votes
add Phamtom Voters
if (BA Voters > BN Voters) and (Time=5.00pm)
inform MB to burn the clasiffied files.

Additional remedy for SPR:

My Traditional Doctor recommends "Mandi Bunga" because terlalu banyak sueh..

My Political Doctor recommends "Mandi Dakwat".

Streetblogger,
People will laugh at the kind of software they are using.
