Forever Missed

The King of Pop is gone and gone is an extraordinary performer. Love him or hate him but you can't deny that he has touched the hearts of millions of people, mine included.

The first time I was ever introduced to this phenomena was when I was still a kid. I can't remember if it was the Andy Williams Show or Shindig or some other show that I have forgotten but I dare say I was taken in the first time I heard him sang with his brothers.

If I am not mistaken during that time there was also another group of brothers called The Osmond Brothers fronted by a very young Donny Osmond but somehow it was the Jackson 5 that I waited everyweek.

No, I did not follow Michael and his brothers but then fast forward many years, I began to hear, Beat It, Billie Jean and Thriller and I was once again a fan.

I did follow him after that especially his rivalry with Prince, whom I don't actually like.

Whatever it is about him, he is still special. Hate him all you want but he help revolutionise modern day dance. His slick move and the unbelievable moon walk is the father of modern day moves.

I was asleep when my son's phone rang. I heard him talking with his girfriend at about 3 or 4 in morning. She called him from Bangkok just to tell him that Michael is dead. From him I gathered that she has been crying for a few days because her Michael is no more. Such is the pull of this extraordinary entertainer.

His passing has left a void that is very difficult to fill. Sorry Elvis fans, I didn't feel much when Elvis died but Lennon's and Michael's departure has surely shaken me.

I dedicate my favourite Michael Jackson song Ben to all Michael Jackson fans.

If you are a fan or if you like his songs or if you at least like this song then feel free to leave a comment.

If you want to be disrespectful then I will delete your comments.

Salam cikgu,
It's indeed very sad that MJ is gone and no more. What ever fault he has, he had indeed brought a lot of changes to the music world and had touched many hearts with his kind of music. Indeed none of us is free from enjoying his talent and showmanship. And it really sadden me to know that he died bald, drugged and starving. What an irony !!! A super star to the world outside but a pauper inside. It is a lesson to be learned by all. Just my 2sen cikgu.

anonymous,
I couldn't agree with you more. It truly is sad. Maybe that is why I like Ben so much because it is sad and you could feel the sadness in his voice.

It truly is sad that MJ is no more with us. I am no diehard fan of his, but like you said, his songs and dances just mesmerize me. He is extremely talented. Despite all the child molestation accusations, I feel he isn't a pedophile. He just had a strange way of showing his love for kids. See what a loving father he is. Now that he has left us, people should not condemn him, but empathize with his kids and family. Let us believe that God loves him more, and want him to be with Him. May his soul rest in peace.

I cant and also dont deny that I am strong fan of the late Michael Jackson and his Billie Jean and Beat It songs could immediately wake-up my brain and make my day. With MJ demise, no one else could be better music idol for many including me. The all past Five (5) or even the current Six (6) Prime Ministers can go (dead or alive) wouldnt affect much of our daily lives, but MJ is just irreplaceable. He is someone who can claim "Why You Are So Obsessed With Me!" like the one currently singing by Mariah Carey. MC is just perfect for her bossoms, and dont need to be First Lady to get people (especially Men, globally) obsessed with her. Let us all hope we will not lose MC after MJ...

May God called upon Decepticons to visit our country and rob us of our polutants Ninjas of Monkeys origins (and you know who these guys are!).

May God bless Michael Jackson well amongst the Good Men, andx for Mariah Carey.... Latinos make good Life Partners!

Despite with all those negative stories about MJ, he will always be one of the most remembered legend at all times. His work has contributed a lot to the music industry that we had today. RIP MJ, you will be greatly missed.

When one becomes a stellar celebrity, one becomes easy meat for vultures. None of us are perfect, not even MJ. Now that he’s gone, maybe it’s time to shelve the suspicions and appreciate his messages and his music.

Salam Chegu,

Whem MJ was tilting towards Islam, partly influenced by his brother Jermaine, the zionist controlled media started to run him down with all kinds of allegations, debt lah, pedophile lah, etc.

His coming series of concerts beginning July in UK was supposed to deliver a message, probably Islam.

He has too many fans, so getting rid of him sooner is the better for the zion.

His Dr Murray maybe the trojan horse, a guy with a lot of debts.

I wonder whether Nasha and Hadi of Pas got financial problems..he..he

cikgu,

i've never really been a fan of Mike but nobody can deny he belongs up there, in the same league as Elvis, Hendrix and The Beatles. the so-called rivalry between him and Prince (or whatever he calls himself nowadays) only flatters the latter. when even the young generation knows many MJ's songs, we cant say the same thing about prince, and thats a fact.

You got that right. Any of the present and past PM can go deep underground and it would not matter coz whats their contribution?

Angel Bear,
The more I hear his song, the more his passing is missed.

zorro,
So true, his music and his messages of peace and love should be appreciated.

Mike,
Wow, what a theory.

Kerp,
Tell you a secret, I really hated prince for trying to be better than MJ.

MJ was a victim. He never had a childhood to enjoy and grew up not learning that he could take charge of his own life. So he was always surrounded by people he felt he had to trust, some of whom exploited him.

He was forever searching for his lost childhood and the sanctuary that he had never had. But he was only able to surround himself with a fantasy world.

Despite all that, his spirit was really only broken by two children he loved who accused him of molesting them. Jordan Chandler has already admitted that he lied, coached by his step-father. I wonder whether Gavin Garcia has a conscience and will do the same thing.

MJ brightened many lives and brought joy, something he had little of. I only became a fan after his Thriller album. He has left some memorable songs that will prick our conscience, if we allow them to.

May he rest in peace.

Singam,
Very aptly said Singam. If we have conscience then surely his songs would prick them.

Salam Cikgu,

No doubt about it, MJ will be sorely missed by many - fans or not. My personal favourite is "She's out of my life".

Shah,
'Who's out of your life'? haha gotcha.

King of Pop can never be replaced. Some of his songs carries very strong messages like 'Black or White', 'We are the World', 'Heal the World','Earth Song''Will you Be There'....

Many people tried to 'copy' his moonwalks but the original is the BEST!

R.I.P, MJ. I know you are in a better place now.

Hi Cikgu

What a touching post. Its sad that we lost him, but everything has a blessing in disguise and I would dare say his time was 'timely'. IYKWIM. Insya'Allah.

I can really hear/feel Michael Jackson's sadness through the song "Ben".
His flesh might be gone, but his musics and dance moves will definitely live on.

Very sad on the day the news was sent out. I grew up on his music...learning the moonwalk in class during form 5 and other steps when Billie Jean videos first came out.

Never bothered about his stories that were highlighted by the 'nosy' press and continued to buy his music...always anticipating his 'first' world premiere mtv videos when they were launched on tv, wherever in the world I happened to be.

Now that he is gone, people are still profiteering from him, esp his father and his record label. Hope he finds his peace now.

Btw...I worked as one of his minders during his concert in UK. Met him and 'the wall', nice guy, really.
