The Dare

What would you do if you were presented with an opportunity to prove that what you have been shouting and ranting about is true? What would do if presented with the opportunity to expose the lies of an opponent?

Well if it were me, I would seize the opportunity without thinking twice. Hey come on, this kind of opportunity is just too good to be true. Maybe God thought that He has tested you enough and now He wants to give you the opportunity to clear your name.

Pak Lah has all these while said that Anwar is lying. He has, short of frothing in the mouth like Shabery, been screaming that Anwar has not the numbers that he has been boasting about. He has been denying that his reign is under seige. He has been boasting that he will never allow this country to be usurped by the likes of Anwar.

Such was his vehemence in denouncing Anwar and such was the intensity of his denial that Anwar has the numbers that matters that you could see desperation written all over his face. He is so desperate to prove that he is right that he does not smile like he used too.

Well since he is desperate to prove that he is right and Anwar is wrong as far as the numbers are concerned, I wonder why is it that he is letting go of this one opportunity that is God-sent?

PR asked Pak Lah to convene an emergency Parliamentary session to pass a vote of no confidence in him. PR has asked that there be a smooth transition of power from the present government to a new one.

Since Pak Lah is so confident that Anwar is bluffing as far as the numbers are concerned then why not call Anwar's bluff?

It's like this. If your opponent is trying to bluff that he has a hidden ace and that three other aces are opened and you know damn well that he is bluffing because that last ace is actually your closed card then why don't you call his bluff and raise him with all that you have?

Anwar has presented him with the opportunity to prove to the people that he is liar when he claimed that he has the numbers. This emergency session would once and for all prove that Anwar is a liar.

If I were Pak Lah and I know that Anwar is bluffing, I would call for a press-conference and say that I am accepting his dare and would even have it convened tomorrow and when I beat him in his no confidence vote, I, with the aid of all the media at my disposal would go to town denouncing him as the greatest liar that the country has ever seen.

Common Pak Lah, this is your golden opportunity. You said that you know pretty well that he is bluffing so why don't you grab this opportunity. Ground him, pound him senseless.

Could it be that you are not sure if he has the number or not? Could it be that you know he has the numbers but you do not know who the people are behind those numbers? Could it be that you know it is suicidal if you were to call for that emergency session that Anwar had asked for?

Now don't tell me that you refused because you don't want to waste time. If that was the case then you are not predetorial enough to be in politics. If that was the case you wouldn't last 4 days, much less 4 years, as the Prime Minister of this country.

Actually, Pak Lah, the ball is in your court. You don't even have to to bend it and dip it like Cristiano Ronaldo? The goalkeeper is sleeping and the defenders are having lunch, just tap it in.

Another act of living in denial obviously! Or not..!

Ydiana,
So very true.

He knows what's going to happen. He's cornered. So, he's buying time.

Like, in chess game, he's checked against his every move. He castled, switched portfolios. But this is not an ordinary chess game, there's special move he can make, a counter check, like ISA.

I read somewhere that Anwar should have Tok Guru with him at this critical time.

Because he KNOWS that Anwar has the numbers and he needs the time to clear his desk, shred some papers, make sure certain deals get through first and do some shopping for bags and containers to pack all those accumulated during his rule and finally to corner the armed forces to do his bidding if need be. Is this so hard to understand? Sheeshhh!

kata tak nak makes sense. thanks to pa la, he keeps an entire country strung on a myth - risking further downward spiral on the already diminishing reputation, stability and confidence. since he has openly declared it a myth, why prolong the agony. as a responsible pm, he should welcome anwar's dare and prove to his 27 million rakyat that he is right. dont wait pa la, we're counting on you

Salam Cikgu,

Like you said it "the ball is in your (paklah) court"; problem is, he does not have the ball, nor balls.

Salam cikgu

Either way, pak lah is at the loosing end.

Should pak lah agree to the emergency call, he will loose... definitely. Should he refuse, anwar gets more mileage... will gain more numbers.

As asil said.. he is buying time which he thought he can afford.

Kerp (Ph.D) said...

yea, he should've dusted the mess up once and for all. give anwar the slot, then both can prove who's been right all along.

The Abdullah managed The Malaysian Insider tried to spin it saying Anwar is buying more time and concocted many other lies in its desperate attempts to salvage Dollah's crumbled credibility. Now, one wonders who is desperate and lying. Anwar holds a constitutional office, Malaysia’s Official Opposition Leader, which represents the other side. What makes Abdullah fail to meet him? What does he fear? Fine, he rejected Anwar's plea and even called him a liar. Now, Anwar challenged him for a duel in Parliament, then Dollah says no. Note that if Anwar meets Abdullah and fails to show the list, it would help Abdullah more than Anwar. What makes Abdullah fail in taking up this golden opportunity? Some people say Anwar should parade the MPs and say 'here they are.' Of course that's how buffoons imagine but they can be forgiven for their buffoonery due being brain damaged elements. If it were known that Dollah will lose out, other BN/AMNO 'leaders' will replace him by tomorrow. So in no way under any circumstance whatsoever would Anwar and PR play into the hands of the gang. They would offer Dollah a graceful exit, better than what Ameno can offer him and would offer him, so it is his choice. The ball is in his court.

Chegu.. I sebenarnya dah kesian sangat kat Pak Lah ini. He's not a good man nor an evil one. His problem is he's too slow BOTH on the uptake and the downtake or else he's got very poor advisers to advice him to exit gracefully... Maybe he's working on this.. but of course there's some assholes in his camp going, 'tangkap Anwar, tangkap Anwar'. They don't realize they're just stoking the Rakyat's anger further...

Why should the Parliament convene? It's ridiculous, someone shout that he has enough support to topple the government, and suddenly without any concrete proof the parliament convene!!!

Ha, ha, ha. That will be the greatest joke in Malaysian and world history.

Hey guys, let us just extrapolate that this incidence had occurred in America, UK, Japan, China, Australia, German, Switzerland ...... Do you think those civilised and developed people would condone such wasting of tax payers money without any concrete proof to justify an emergency parliamentary session.

Many of us are probably moron to think that power transition could democratically take place by Badawi's granting the PM job to Anwar. Anwar could request for Badawi to resign, but as long as the BN is in power, it is the representative from BN who would, constitutionally, be elected as acting PM.

If indeed that there are willing lompat MPs, why not the MPs simply announce them quitting BN and joining PR. Once the number is enough, by all mean, demand for the parliament to convene and seek audience with the yang di pertuan Agong for appointment as PM. I am sure that all the MPs could simulataneously announce quitting BN and joining PR within a period of one to two hours: and that's it.. Buat ajalah, kalau betul nak lompat.

The above option is feasible, easier and, will safe the rakyat and economy from uncertainty. I am sick of DSAI excuses, konon kononya takut MPs tersebut mendapat bahaya. So he is willing to sacrifice the rakyat now for the sake that PR could go in power. Don't give me the bullshit that it is okay to sacrifice the rakyat now for the sake of future generation. What made he think that PR could give us better life? You have not given as any good example until now. Thanks for the free water plus few other tiny miny things. Proof your essence first through the five states under PR before making claim.

I think Anwar's main worry is Badawi's announcing an emergency election. He is so afraid that PR would loose. A complete disregard of the democratic right of the rakyat to elect the government of their choice - IS THIS AN EXAMPLE OF A PERSON FIGHTING FOR DEMOCRACY: IGNORING THE DEMOCRATIC RIGHT OF THE RAKYAT?

FOR THOSE WHO SUPPORT ANWAR'S PLAN, YOU JUST HAVE NO BALL AND DO NOT DESERVE TO MAKE A CLAIM OF FIGFTING FOR DEMOCRACY.
