What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

I don't know with you but I find this song therapeutic. I would like to borrow from one commenter in youtube about this song,

"The anthem of the world, the anthem of life".

Anyway Armstrong is simply great, he is irreplaceable.

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky

Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Yes kata tak nak....I simply love that man...and do miss him and Ray Charles too... very much.
"Hello Dolly" is another great song.
And the one you put out...is his signature tune.....copied by millions..even now...but never have anyone sing it like him..with so much soul and feelings.
Thanks for this lovely song.
Have a nice Sunday!

Monty,
I thought you would love this. We old timers could identify with it. I am sure many young people would find this pleasing and soothing too. Have a nice day.

Cikgu,

100% with you. this song is very soothing. even for being a non-fan of lite&easy stuff, this song is exceptional.

now i'm not bragging or anything but seriously, my dad can sing this song extremely well. and if that isnt good enough, he can even impersonate mr armstrong's voice. karaoke-ing has been his passion since ages ago.

raisingmercury,
Yes, world and life anthem. It has so much to offer to mankind.

Kerp,
My late dad can't sing to save his life but his children are not that bad. My late brother had his own band and was a nightclub singer and I myself had my own band and did sing in the radio but besides some jam stints in pubs, that was the furthest I went. Some things are just not meant to be.

cikgu,

what was the name of your band btw? since you've mentioned it, my dad played in a band too. not sure if you have heard about it but his band was called the The Zeds, fronted by Azean Irdawati.

A Voice had written on something that touched our religous sensitivity but came to realised that it is an issue of muhibbah among the various races and religions.

He likes to get others to discuss it so I am creating a tag to hear your view on an aspect of Muhibbah and how we as individual can promote Muhibbah. Tag at least 2 others after you're finished.

You can his opinion and the simple tag rules here

Kerp,
Of course I know D Zeds. I remember Azean, but I really didn't go for her much because she was only a so so singer. I liked D zed then because you can sort of say that they were quite progressive in their songs.
Wow! I am honoured to have known the song of the winner of Juara Kugiran.

Oh, my band was called Acid Band. It was just a group of school boys. Our leader did make it to Bakat TV playing his own version of mechanised Angklong and he was champs that year. Now I heard he is a Tabligh.

waaaa.... All talk bands...and I pride myself stood as a guarantor to a famous band call...I will not reveal the name...to buy all their instruments....worth few thousand RM...to pay by installments...at Batu Road..now known as TAR road..to a Mr.Chew....very famous piano shop...now close. He was involved with a case sued by a lady....saying he molested her..do you remember him?
YES!!...Nan Hong Piano CO.
The band did pay up the installments faithfully...and long ago....one of them was a hotel manager in the only 4 star hotel in Trengganu........so nice to meet him....and he remembered me.!!
And I was offered to sing at Rose Chan Strip tease show for 15 minutes every night...at one hotel.....too.....but got chickened out..as I get so nervous....my timing is always out....hahahahahaha
But I did sing without fail for during Christmas period...organized by the Eurasians of Malacca...at the Malacca General Hospital...for few occasions and at the road side too!!
My idol at that time was Johnny Mathis.

And to go further...I don't even know those young guys at the shop....except they were trying different instruments and Chew and I were watching and listening.
And when they said... they wanted to pay by installments....Chew said no deal..then I asked them....where were they performing...and they told me..then I told Chew....I will go there frequently to see them collect their salaries and pay him. That makes Chew agree to them pay installments..guaranteed by me.....as Chew trusted me. One of them....very close to me is always known to me as Angus.....the hotel manager.!!
He moved around to two famous bands.....then I lost track of him for years.
I hope he is well and good.
And if kerp is his relation....I will drop dead out of excitements...hahahahahaha

ooop! I think it is Agus....not Angus.
I hope he reads this...as we at least 40 years friends!!
He is a mild mannered...soft spoken...very polite Muslim.
In fact in our days....kata tak nak.....you can feel the youngsters of all races are totally different from now. Now ...talk big and show off...order of the day.
In our yesterdays ...it will be ..firstly ...a shame to the family....and certainly....braggarts do not have a working future.
Nowadays....it's ok.....and Mahathir is much older than both of us....KTN....yet he denies...he is the real evil teacher of our present..divided society.

kata tak nak....I have been listening to this song...but for long long time..never seen it sung by him live..for a long long time.
I have played it over and over again...so many times...never get tired of his unique signature tune.....plus the way he sung it...with so much feelings.
Thanks again.......dear friend.

Monty,
Great singers don't have to try very hard. It comes out naturally and Armstrong is a natural.

kata tak nak...I notice he 'blurred' gas out from his stomach after few notes.
It is either his unique style...or he is suffering from bad gastric problems..and he is quite a thin guy too....signs of gastic problems...or born like that. What do you think?
During his time....very few negros were recognised. He and Nat King Cole were the exceptions.
